Generations of drivers have chosen Volkswagen brand cars and SUVs over the years, trusting the carmaker to deliver vehicles that are well-crafted, well-equipped, and reliable. At Hoy Volkswagen of El Paso, where we carry a wide range of great VW models in our new vehicle inventory, we're proud to help local drivers find the ideal vehicle for their needs, and we want to help you get to know all of our models a little better, including the 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan.

The Tiguan is one of the most popular vehicles that we carry at our El Paso, TX dealership. It's versatile and highly customizable, available in your pick of two rows of seating or three. But it's also not the only SUV in its class out there. We know you have plenty of options when shopping for a new crossover, and we want to help.

Let our expert sales team help you get to know the Tiguan a little better. We've taken a closer look at it next to the Hyundai Tucson, and we have three incredible areas where our model comes out ahead. Read on to learn more.

2023 Volkswagen Tiguan vs. 2023 Hyundai Tucson

From the outside, these two SUVs appear similar, with four doors, an elevated ground clearance that drivers love, and a rear cargo hold that's easy to access via a liftgate. However, these are all characteristics that almost every SUV on the market today has in common, and the VW Tiguan is different. In fact, here are three ways in which our Tiguan sets itself apart and offers drivers a little something different from the norm:

  1. Optional third row. Like plenty of other vehicles in this class, the Volkswagen Tiguan comes standard with two rows of seating and accommodations for up to five people. But while that's as much as the Hyundai Tucson can do, the Tiguan does one better, by offering a third row option that the competition doesn't. Available on select Tiguan models, this third row comes in handy in a pinch or when you have a larger family. It increases the seating capacity to seven people, and you won't find anything like it anywhere in the Hyundai Tucson lineup.
  2. Power and performance. While both the VW Tiguan and the Hyundai Tucson come standard with a four-cylinder engine under their hoods, the Tiguan has more oomph to get you going and get the vehicle quickly up to highway speeds. They offer nearly identical horsepower ratings, but where the Volkswagen has a nice 221 pound-feet of torque right out of the gate, the Tucson puts out a mere 178 pound-feet of torque.
  3. Standard features and amenities. When shopping for a new set of wheels in the El Paso area, you want as many features as you can get for your money. Volkswagen understands that, and they equip every Tiguan, starting with the entry-level model, with a long list of the amenities that our customers want. Next to the Hyundai Tucson, there are several features you can look forward to that come standard with the Tiguan and not the Hyundai, such as in-vehicle Wi-Fi capability, heated exterior mirrors, heated and height-adjustable front seats, and heated windshield washer nozzles.
